George Valassis is an iconic figure in the history of the American printing business. He attended the University of Michigan on a swimming scholarship and graduated with dual degrees in business and engineering. He worked on the Norden tachometric bombsight at Willowrun, where the B-25 was manufactured. He learned the printing business from the ground up taking pride in understanding in detail the needs of individual customers and the business itself. In 1968, he started his own printing company. He was the originator of the free standing advertising insert, the magazine received in your Sunday paper filled with coupons. He founded Valassis Communications, Inc., which is on the NYSE (VCI), selected as one of the "Top 100 Companies to Work for in the United States". George is a man of ideas. He was a trader on the CBOT, built a ski complex in the Cleveland area, owned orange groves, built golf course communities, and spent 25 years drilling for oil and gas. Mr. Valassis and his wife Sandra are generous philanthropists, supporting medical research. Throughout his lifetime of boundless vision and hard work, Valassis has received numerous awards for entrepreneurial acumen.
George Sharp - Executive Director, Investor Relations for Ford Motor Company George Sharp, is executive director, Investor Relations. As executive director, Sharp leads Ford's effort to further strengthen the investor relations function and deepen Ford and Ford Credit's engagement with the investment community in the equity and fixed income arenas. Sharp reports to Ford Vice President and Treasurer Neil Schloss. George joined Ford in 1976 and has served in a number of roles within the global Finance organization, including vice president of Finance for Ford of Canada, controller for Product Strategy, competitive analysis manager, and director of Corporate Financial Analysis. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Besides having many contacts with Wall Street, George has impeccable skills in competitive and financial analysis and therefore is leaned upon heavily by top executives at Ford. Ford Motor has a history of cutting-edge capability in Finance and George has enriched that reputation. Personally; George is from Philadelphia, PA and knows the state well. Malcolm Green, Associate Director, Collaboratory, College of Technology & Innovation at Arizona State University. Controller at Six Sigma Systems, Inc.; Director, Engineering Test Services at Honeywell Aerospace; Senior Manager, Test Equipment & Metrology. Malcolm is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University, where he obtained both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering. The plan is for Malcolm to direct quality control and the build of the demonstration unit. Malcolm will also direct collection of empirical data from the power plant. His management of engineering services and six sigma discipline are outstanding skills for APCS. Malcolm presently works with several utility companies in research projects with ASU. His past experience includes development and distribution of pollutant collection equipment and therefore he has a deep interest in our technology.
Len Middleton, Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Ross School of Business, the University of Michigan. Len has been a Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan since 1999. His consulting has provided deep friendships with captains of industry with such companies like Intel, Microsoft, Johnson and Johnson and many more. He has political acquaintance with chief executives at the Federal and State level including governors, senators, cabinet members, and the current and former presidents. He is a board member of the Samuel Zell & Robert H. Brad Hilton, President, Collins & Hilton Asset Group. Brad is a successful investor, business leader, and philanthropist. Following in the tradition of his Grandfather Conrad, Brad is drawn to entrepreneurial opportunity. During his tenure with Hilton Hotels Corporation as an executive, Brad managed the company's Information Technology group. Brad spearheaded an initiative that led to increased revenues through corporate solicitations that had an impact on Hilton's bottom line, taking it from $700 million to over $1.2 billion dollars in less than a year. Brad lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and three children. Upon the sale of Hilton Hotels the vast majority of his family's wealth transferred to the Hilton Foundation, making it one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Gannon University, Erie, PA. Jim presently serves on Governor's (Pa.)
